	The Riverside Inn The Riverside Inn dates back to the mid 17th Century and stands on the site of the Old Springfield Mill on the River Chelmer. This incredible building has been refurbished, restoring its unique history, character and charm. The hotel features the original mill stream running underneath, exposed oak beams and an 8ft spur wheel. Chelmsford town centre, cathedral and main line station are all five minutes on foot from the hotel, with trains running every 10 minutes in to London ’s Liverpool Street. Choose to eat in one of the traditional Riverside bars or first floor restaurant. Weather permitting you can enjoy your meal in the Riverside Garden overlooking the Chelmer. We have a courtesy car which can be hired for £29.95 inclusive of vat and insurance (£250 excess) per day. Should you wish to cover the car under your own insurance (You insurance company should be able to do this with just a phone call - sometimes free of charge) we will give you £8 off per day.

We have a Same Day special offer, that fits in well with our range of services which can be completed in one day such as alloy wheel refurbishments, paintless dent repair and paint sealants. If you hire the car and return it before 5.45pm same day, you get the car for just £15inc, and we will still give you £8 off if you use your own insurance. Thats just £7!
