The Cost of Penalty Recharges

These photos were taken by a lease company of damage that incured penalty charges. These photos
were sent along with the bill to a fleet customer who then passed them on to us to see if we could help avoid them in future. The prices are what the lease holder was charged (prices 2005).

Stone chips that are down to bare metal
01. Stone chips £45 +vat
A scratch on the front wheel arch being measured to see if it falls within what is allowed.
02. Scratch £85+vat
A scratch which is so deep, it has dented the panel
03. Dent & Scratch £85+vat
     
A dent on a panel, whatever caused the dent also scratched the paintwork

Several scratches and dents.

A cigarette burn in a seat. It's a common problem and although small carries quite a hefty recharge.

Paint damage caused by a chemical reaction to fallout. Probably tree sap.

Bird lime is highly corrosive and will damage paintwork - you will be charged if the paintwork is broken exposing bare metal.
