Odour Kill Systems and Smell Removal

At Clean Image, Odour Kill has become a specialty of ours, there is much demand for the service, but each kind of odour has a different cause and cure.

We deal with everything from cars that have been smoked in, cars with mildew, rotten food and drink, spills of oil, petrol and diesel. We also deal with cars that have been flooded, we have even dealt with bio-hazard spills. (see also Accident clean-up)

It is important to remove the source of the smell. Mark is show dismantling the inside of this farm vehicle to get to the source. In cases where is a health hazard we will use protective clothing.

The method of dealing with each kind of smell is different, although we will always start with removing the source of the odour. We will then apply different deodorants, disinfectants and chemicals for breaking down matter, depending on whether the source is mineral or organic.
Sprint Enzymes are very effective on organic substances, while we have other special chemicals for treating chemical spills such as kerosene and white spirit.

Ozone Machine. This is a very popular service for taxis and police cars.

For treating air bourne odours and hard to reach surfaces (such as inside air vents and behind the dashboard) we can use ozone machines and/or foggers.

Ozone machines produce an unstable form of oxygen which reacts with bacteria on contact. Thermal fogging machines turn special fragrances and deodorants into steam which can get into even the most hard-to-reach places when sealed into a car.

We have a 99% success rate with odours and smells. However, because removing the source of the smell is critical to the whole operation, we don't always get it right first time. But if we need a second attempt, we will do so at no extra charge. Nine out of ten odours are eradicated at the first attempt. We will call you after a week to check that the odour has not come back, if it has we will book you in for another treatment.

One in every 100 cars may have a hidden problem that we may have a problem with. For example we had problems removing a smoke smell from a car and it wasn't until we started to dismantle it that we found that the previous owner had held their cigarette in their hand while holding the steering wheel, the ash had dropped inside the steering column which was now full! There have been other instances where customers attempting to clear up spillages has spread the problem deep inside seats and under carpets and seats and other fitting have needed to be unbolted in order to remove every trace of nasty substances. If we need to dismantle parts of the car, we will quote accordingly.
