Exceptionally hardwearing leather recolouring.

This porsche seat was damaged by flood and badly stained by mildew. Even with a very light colour such as this, Buttonizing™ is able to cover all stains and discolouration.

This method of leather recolouring is similar to Connollising, except that instead of using the traditional dyes and modern coatings, it uses a extra hard wearing coatings from Germany.

We have a Jaguar seat which has been coloured with Button™ coatings that we have jumped on, walked on, scratched keys across and smothered in cleaners and conditioners to virtually no ill effect. We are confident that Buttonizing™ gives a more hardwearing and stain resistant finish than original factory treated leather.

The seats of this Marcos which were originally beige, have been recoloured in green and burgundy. The green is a flip-tone colour which gives a pearlescent effect which can be seen in this photo.T "...the results, fantastic!!!"
please note that the customer required a completely different colour change. this is not advisable as it is not possible to put the colour completely into the are seams .

Furthermore, the strength of the pigments used provide exceptional coverage. This means that recolouring badly stained seat is no longer a problem, and in many cases, we can actually change the colour of a seat - something which was not possible with Connollising inks. This gives more possibilities such as custom motifs printed onto your leather, or the sue of flip-tone colour's which have a slightly metallic/pearlescent effect and change colour in the light. Please note that completely different colour change is not advisable.

Hard Wearing

Buttonizing™ is exceptionally hard wearing and gives a superb finish leaving your seats almost looking like new. And yet, despite the strong pigments and super tough top coat, it is fully breathable so that expensive high quality leather can be fed and conditioned. We would recommend this treatment to the owners of very high value cars, especially low-slung super which can be quite a struggle getting in and out of, subjecting seat bolsters to quite a bit of wear.

How long does it take?

Because we almost always need to remove the seats from the car to carry out the Buttonizing process, we usually need the car (or the just the seats) for between 3 and 5 days. Buttonizing is a two stage process similar to clear-over-base as used on your car's bodywork. The actual time needed will depend on the numbers of colours you choose, the types of finish and the amount of leather to be treated. It is a highly skilled process which cannot be rushed.

Prices

Because of the various different kind of service that Buttonizing each job needs to be priced on an individual basis. The seats need to come out of the car during the two stage process, so we will need the car for 3-5 days. As a rule of thumb, a single seat will cost £200, or roughly double the cost of connollising.
