Keys, Documentation,
Extras &
Third Party Equipment
Keys
A full set of keys will come with the car - please look after them especially the master key (often coloured), locking wheel nut keys, and any remote locking system control fobs.
If the car was supplied with additional security systems, these should be fully intact and working, complete with keys and/or remote control devices.
Documentation
The car will come with documentation including a full service history, log book, the vehicles instruction manual, and instruction manuals for audio equipment and security systems. If the audio equipment has security codes, you will get these too. All these things are part of the car so make sure you look after them, you will be expected to return them.
Extras - - Additional equipment
Any extra equipment supplied with the vehicle such as tow bars or navigation equipment must be kept in full working order and all instruction manuals included with your car should be kept in a safe place.
Third party equipment
Any non-standard equipment (bought and fitted by you) such as mobile phones (see figure 34), Tow bars and roof racks, you should get permission to fit them and if fitted, they should be removed before returning your car. You should think very carefully before deciding to fit non-standard equipment as fitting is likely to cause damage which will need to be made good. It would be worthwhile contacting your lease company for advice. Some companies will allow you to return a car with these extras still fitted.
Some items such as tow-bars can be fitted in such a way as to aid easy removal at a later date i.e. connecter plugs. It would be worthwhile discussing your situation with your supplier.
