Day 4 - 30^th October

Day 4 was a busy day… our first and only checkpoint of the day was a trip to Adria Race Track, and from there we would be moving from Venice across Italy on to our next hotel in Lake Stresa. We had checked the night before and we were now ranking 13th in the Navigational Rally, getting the hang of it.

CHECK POINT 1 MONZA RACE TRACK

It took us around 3 hours to get to Monza which is about 170 miles from our hotel start point in Venice east. The mini managed to reach 105mph on the trip down there and the BMW’s admitted having to work hard to catch us up. But unfortunately maybe 105 was a little to much for the mini to take,,, we ended up with an oil leak and having to make a road side stop.

Once we made it to Monza, Kel and a few friends we had made looked over the car to try and work out what was causing the oil leak.

		Just to make sure the car is ready for the track Kel had enough time to do a quick change on the fan belt which was also causing us some problems on the way down. After some minor work the car was ready for the track, we only got 1 lap each on Monza track which was a shame but we made the most of the experience...

After our visit to Monza Race Track, we made the 65 mile trip to our second hotel of the trip, the 5* Regina Palace, this was the hotel I was looking forward to staying in.   The hotel had the most amazing views of the lake from the balcony…

And the rooms had a great Jacuzzi bath, which I made full use of at the end of a long day.
