Shampoo, solvent and dye

The bulk of the paint was removed with soap and steam, picked and scrubbed off, and then vacuumed out. Many stains remained on carpets plastic and leather and these were removed with a combination of special solvents and extraction with our shampoo machine.

.

Working an area at a time, Ryan moved around the car, often having to leave an area to soak for a day while getting on with another area.

The paint came off of most of the leather with no ill effect, but as you can see from the above photo, it left stains on the softer leather. This is the pocket on the back of the passenger seat, you can clearly see faint violet coloured staining. This was fixed by connollising the leather, this is a process where dyes are used to recolour the area. For more information about this, see our connollising page.
