Swirl marks on top of wing

Above - the top of the wings were pretty bad on this vehicle.

Holograms

In the photo above are what we call swirl marks (sometimes called holograms). Not the white lines in the top 3rd of the photo, this is a scratch, you should be looking at the smudges that run down the photo. They are buffing marks caused because the compounds used in physical buffing themselves cause micro scratches - the aim is to use finer and finer compounds and polishes until the micro-scratches are invisible to the naked eye. In this case it has not been done properly (it is quite difficult to do) and shows up in bright sunlight.

front wing

When we zoom out of the same area you can see that they give a hologram effect that could be seen down much of this side of the car.
