Car Buffing |
Because the wool pad cuts the paintwork it will leave swirl marks. It is abrasive and anything that cuts will not leave the surface smooth, it will leave its own fine scratches which can be seen in harsh light. So the process of removing swirl marks (buffer marks) begins by using a polishing pad.
I used the blue and green pads with 1020 Polish at speeds up to 2000rpm. 1020 is a chemical polish with no abrasives and no silicones. It uses only complex natural oils which help increase the heat generated by friction and hold it on the surface of the paint work. This heat softens the very upper surface of the paint.
