Car Buffing |
![]() Because the backing plate was wrong, it caused the pads to lift and not sit firmly on the bodywork. This lead to some of the waxes and polishes I used to bind up and not come away cleanly. This was an inconvenience but not a serious problem. Spraying a small amount of water onto compound/polish/wax will help you to buff it off.
The pads in the Allpad range have a dish shaped recess in the back which holds the backing plate. The backing plate is made from a ridged foam rubber which is tough enough to hold the buffing pads in shape across the full 200mm of their diameter but flexible enough to give if too much pressure is applied to reduce risk of damage. The pads are fixed with velcro and there is a locator hole through both pad and backing plate so that a cardboard tube can be used to ensure perfect alignment.
