Step 1 - Learn about returning your car
What is a "Lease Return Inspection?"
When
your car is returned to the lease company they will assess it
to make sure it is in reasonable condition. Any damage that
is not deemed to be 'reasonable
wear and tear'* is charged back to the lease-holder/driver.
Your car also has to be clean and free of strong odours. In
the past this has led to some drivers incurring large and unexpected
costs.
To help remedy this, we recommend having your car independently
pre-inspected before it is returned to the lease company. New
Again can produce a report detailing things that the lease company
may charge you for. why?»
"What do I do with this report?"
Armed with this information, you have a chance to get any damage rectified yourself, because this usually works out cheaper than the lease company's recharges. more»
"Who pays?"
Ultimately you are responsible for the car, but
you may be able to push some costs on if they are covered
by insurance, tyre contracts, manufacturer's warranties. more»
Either way, we are here to save you money and give you peace of mind.

"Where can I get the work done?"
If there is work to be done - you can get it done anywhere you want
- if you have a trusted
garage that does repairs, it is fine to use them - just
remember that any work needs to be carried out to an acceptable
standard.
If you don't have a preferred company, New Again are able to carry
out most of the work or will be able to recommend a company that can. more»
* Although almost all lease companies work to the BVRLA Fair Wear
and Tear Standard, some have exceptions or may be more lenient. You
may want to check your contract and see if your lease company has it's
own standard. If possible, bring it with you - if you don't we will
use the BVRLA standard as default.
